The sun is shining, the birds are singing and you guys are hitting the roads in your campers. Those of you that are still working on your rides or indeed still trying to track one down to buy - are hiring. With more and more hire companies popping up each year it's hard to see why not.
We headed over to north London to see what Nick Led's company Dubhire (www.dubhire.co.uk) has on offer. And more bizarrely his even newer venture, Camping in Cabs (www.campincabs.co.uk).
Being a bank holiday Nick was busy sorting Sophie and Nigel out with his Paris roofed Bay Window for the weekend. It was their first time in a bus, which they had decided to hire for a festival in Oxford.
Interested to see how they got on over what ended up being one of our wettest bank holidays on record, and to see whether a little bit of rain was enough to put them off one day owning their very own bus, we followed them on their journey.
Stocking up for a festival always involves StrongBow
No map reading rows here. Just listening to their ipods on the superb stereo
Sophie is clearlyloving the Bay Window far too much - You'll see that full feature in an issue soon once we can prize her away from the bus in order to write it.
But as mentioned earlier, Nick Led, the man behind Dubhire is also branching out to a new budget busting audience with his converted black cabs ripe for road trips. Yeah they're not Vdubs but for anyone who want to see whether the nomadic lifestyle of owning a real camper is for them its a great fun way to try it out. They legally carry 5 passengers plus driver (not supplied) with a cooker and sink inside. The interior folds out into a 2berth camper with an additional tent for your not so lucky passengers.
