Make mine a Double Trim & tonic

Chris Lyons at Trimming Tonic pulled out the stops to get our interior done in time for the VolksWorld Show. And are we ever pleased he did - check it out

FRONT SEATS5

You may well of seen in previous posts that we here at Planet Camper&Bus have been pondering over what to do for our own project2tone Type25 interior. We knew we wanted a fairly factory look but with a subtle twist.

After a brief chat with Chris Lyons, up at trimming Tonic, this all went out the window though. the man had a portfolio fo some of the coolest bus interiors we've ever seen (One of which coming up soon in VolksWorld in the form of fellow work colleague Steve Gilbert satin split bus)

After reigning it back in from our initial (kid in a sweet shop) frenzy of styles we settled for a fabric that Chris had wanted to do something with for a while now. It's a fat weave brown cloth called 'Donkey' which is way higher quality than that what would of left the factory on the Type25 but still quite subtle in it's colouring.

The backing of the seats were perfectly matched to the exisiting VW door cards as Chris's brief was that I wanted to smoke the bus around a while until I could spare either the time or the money to move onto sorting all the door cards out.

REAR SEATS

The rock and roll bed was covered in the same way letting in the brown vinyl around the edges to carry on the same colours out back.

You can see from these shots if you click on them the quality of Chris's work. Backing up the need to, sometimes call in the experts who really really can help you out. I know in the latest issue we arm you with all the products knowledge to be able to give interior work a go yourself. But as someone who has tackled a few interiors in my time, I know that no amount of efffort would get close to the finish on one of Chris's interiors. Check his website out (www.trimmingtonic.co.uk) for more examples and by all mean, if you see us at a show, come and have a look for yourself. But we are well chuffed with the results.

Thankyou Chris
