Welcome to VolksWorld...
Hi, I'm Yav, a year 11 student that knows nothing about cars, but managed to have a fantastic time working with the guys at VolksWorld and Camper&Bus.
Not knowing what to expect I walked into their office expecting to see beer bellied men with tattoos but in stead there were guys on computers working on different spreads for the magazine. [Which was good]
On the first day I had to recreate one of the previous double page spreads by reselecting the pictures on the page, they made me do this so that they could compare the different ways we designed the same page. I wasn't here alone my friend Catia was also on her work experience and she was given the same task as me only with a different spread - It was quite scary at first.

On the second day our aim was to make a previously featured car with a still background, seem like it was moving to see what it would look like. I had never done anything like that before so I was looking forward to it. Whilst Catia was doing a cut out of Herbie, I was working on the Dyno Pincher beetle. It was very hard to use a software called Indesign and Photoshop as it wasn't something I was used to using. But after a while it came natural to me using the tools and the effects.

After about two hours of staring at the computer screen I had managed to cut out the perfect out line of the car, I changed the background and made lots of different front covers of each.

This is Neil and Harry, they was looking after us and telling us what to do. Neil was meant to take us to this car shoot but he said that we could get hurt because they were going to be driving fast and doing wheel spins. Show's he's caring :-]
Neil went to the shoot and left us with Harry who's also awesome, he gave us a camera and told us to got nuts for this blog, but it was quite hard to take pictures where all the desks are the same. So we took some of random people and the Famous Poncho the everyone was supposedly going to wear in one years time.

I'm told this is not what the designer of VolksWorld, Steve, normally wears, but I'm not too sure about that
Bye - and thanks for the experience VolksWorld
