Worlds most expensive Bus

It's amazing how fast news travels these days, it really is. There we were sitting having a coffee on Sunday morning at the Bad Camberg vintage show when a message came through - a Samba had just sold for a truly insane amount at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Costa Mesa, California. The Samba had sold for $198,000 (£121,740) and, by the time the buyer's premium was added, that price rose to $217,500 (£135,000).
The minute it was mentioned we all started asking questions and making statements. What Samba? Who's Samba? It must have been a Barndoor. No, it was a ‘only a '63...' A 1963? Has the world gone mad?
You can find out all about the '63 Split Screen in the October 2011 issue of VolksWorld magaine (due out on 2nd September) but for now, here is the video of the auction taking place.

Have your say!
