Costing £215 less than and replacing the Polo Moda and Polo SE trim levels, the Polo Match is available with in either a three-door or five-door model with three different engine sizes to choose from, a 1.2-litre and 1.4-litre petrol engine and a 1.2-litre diesel engine. A five-speed manual gearbox comes as standard, although you can upgrade to a seven-speed DSG option with the 1.4-litre petrol engine. Prices range from £11,300 for the three-door 1.2 petrol Match up to £14,140 for the 1.4 petrol DSG five-door version.
Other key features include 15-inch alloys, four airbags, air conditioning, heated rear windows that are tinted, a multi-function computer with iPod connectivity and electrically-adjustable exterior mirrors. What's more, free car insurance is available as an added bonus for the first year if bought as part of Volkswagen's Solutions PCP package, which also includes three years or 30,000 miles free servicing.
Don't worry if this is not of interest as here at VolksWorld we've scoured the Internet for you to find out how much it'll cost to insure and it's safe to say that performance car insurance is not needed to get the Polo Match covered. In terms of car insurance groups, cover for the Polo Match is actually quite reasonably priced.
Based on a policy for a 28-year-old male driver that does 10,000 miles annually, has been driving for five years with no claims and who plans to park the car in a safe spot at all hours of the day, the cheapest quote with comprehensive cover for the most basic model (1.2L, three door and petrol) came out at £453 with Esure with a £250 voluntary excess. The most expensive quote for the same model was just over £1,500 with Quinn Direct.
Prices for the the 1.4 petrol DSG five-door version for exactly the same driver go from £517 at one end of the scale, which is again with Esure, right up to £956 with Likewise. The three-model of the 1.4 petrol DSG was slightly cheaper and ranged from £517 with Esure once more to £945 with Likewise.
So, there it is - the "value" Polo Match from Volkswagen. A great value car without the sky-high insurance costs.
