On its English-language website, Hrvatska Posta commented on this issue:
Only when a car denotes an era it becomes a veritable car. The car. Not any other single car embodies the economic wonder of the 50s of the past century like the "Beetle". It was not only the witness but an important participant in the creation of the new world. Millions of people can thank the "Beetle" on the so far undreamt-of mobility. Millions of streets, in Germany and across the whole world, were witnesses of its triumphant drive. That’s why it should not come as a surprise that it has become the first car in the world with more than 20 million sold vehicles.

When the last specimen of a myth left the assembly line in 2003, this was probably the end of its production but not of overall significance for the history of the motor-car. However, this car legend goes on living, only in a somewhat different shape. Volkswagen, namely, in 1988 presented the vehicle "New Beetle" to the public, whose characteristics originate from the genuine "Beetle", the vehicle that continues being irresistible to people of all age groups with its distinctive style. Volkswagen is a brand that introduces most innovations into the assembly-line production of cars. Just like the former "Beetle" that made mobility possible for millions of people, the Volkswagen brand nowadays makes enjoyment in technological achievements available for millions of people.
