Hat's off to VolksWorld cover star Dave Dinnings, who reached the goal he set himself when we featured his car in July 2006

Mr. Dinnings set his new personal best time in his Outlaw Flat Four drag race Bug at the Open Sports Nationals at Shakespeare County Raceway. Dave posted a blistering 10.39-second pass at 129mph!
Speaking to Dave shortly after the event, he told us, “I’ve got to mention Peter Englezos as he has given me so much help building the new motor for the car”.
Congrats also go out to the numerous other Outlaw Flat Four racers who posted personal bests: Frank Hoffman 12.65, Jason Rew 12.08 and Richie Webb’s outstanding 9.67 at 141mph!
