Gene Berg has always had a good reputation for reliability and longevity and once again they are reminding us how dedicated they are with the arrival of the new 5-speed conversion kit for the IRS Bus transmission, with billet aluminium intermediate housing.
It's been under test for two seasons already and is looking very good indeed! The kit includes all the parts required for the conversion, with the exception of mounts and a 5-speed shifter. It requires the 002 or 113-type gears, so any that you don't have will first need to be purchased. Gene Berg can assist with ratio choice if needs be.
As the Bus box is designed for IRS, your Bus will either have to run an IRS suspension set-up or you can use the Folts Swing-axle conversion kit. Your pinion and main shaft will need to be sent in to the Bergs for conversion too, but the labour for this is included in the kit price of $1,995.
