The Bus Station Narrowed Beams

5-inch narrowed beam from The Bus Station

The Bus Station has been in touch to let us know about a couple of new products.

The first is the five-inch narrowed beams with shocks for both link pin and ball joint Beetles. These have new laser-cut shock towers and fit with no body modification whatsoever thanks to their special tower design.
Prices start at £350 if you supply your bare beam and go up to £795 for a drive-in, drive-out service.
Now, if you are like us, the first question you'd ask is 'how does this affect the turning circle and handling?' Naturally, tucking in the wheels this much will reduce it so The Bus Station are also selling a 'Quick Steer Kit' that will help correct steering problems associated with seriously narrowed beams. This kit costs £25.

Bus fans need not feel left out as The Bus Station,
believe it or not, sell narrowed beams for the Bay too.

But these narrowed Bus beams are not your usual items though. Instead, Bus Station beams have a 7-degree positive caster angle in the end plates to correct the caster problems commonly associated with 'flipped' drop spindles and/or a nose-down stance. On a Bus you can't just slip in a pair of caster shims as you do on a Bug, and these new end plates are designed to make your Bus handle as if on rails and be much more stable at speed!
The price for a narrowed caster beam is £795 fully fitted, or your own beam can be modified from £400.
