Status VW has in stock a range of seat paddings and bases to rectify your shapeless seat problem. They are a straightforward swap for the original seat bases, with no cutting or shaping required - each piece is shaped to the exact original pattern.
What is unusual about these bases is the fact that they are made from environmentally friendly cocoa fibre. These look and feel like the original seat horsehair. "We have in stock every model and year of seats for Vans from 1955 to 1979," says Barclay Stainton, "and all the rear Micro-Bus seats from folding middle seats, full-length rear seats Split front seats, Split bench seats - you get the idea - and, of course, we stock the full range for the Beetle too."
