VW Heritage and SSP have been in touch to tell us of their latest acquisitions: a score of complete 1800cc Type 4 engines.

They are ex-industrial units that have only ever been test-run, so are essentially still new, or rather, they are new old stock.
If you've ever considered fitting a Type 4 engine to your Dub, then now is your chance. You'll be getting the complete unit exactly as it came from their original application, so they won't be a straight fit and will need to have the exhaust, heater pipes, 24v electrics and outer fan cowling swapped over, but VWH will be able to advise you on what you will need to do.
The motor is a great
basis for a project and you get a whole load of ready-built engine for a good price. Where else can you buy a nearly-new Type 4 engine?
