Ali Spring Plate Retainers
After years of purchasing overpriced and poor-quality parts, David Downes, an engineer based just outside Newcastle, decided he could do better.
The retainers are CNC-machined from high-grade T6 aluminium and have a hard anodised coating (the same as used in undersea applications) that gives a tough and durable finish. The bushes are made from a self-lubricating leaded bronze more commonly used for heavy industrial compressor bushes. The plates are available to suit either stock or sway-away spring plates and currently come in either graphite grey or black off the shelf, but other colours are available on request, as are fully polished versions.
These retainers work by eliminating the use of the rear torsion bar bushes, thereby preventing the bars from moving under hard acceleration. If this happens, the rear tracking changes and that doesn't do much for getting the power down. Although these are the first high-quality products from Northrace, the company promises there will be more to come.
Northrace can also carry out a full range of CNC machining services for either a set of wheel spacers or a complete one-off set of billet accessories for your custom project. If you need to get something machined, then this is the company to contact.
