Ciao Bella – ’67 Beetle

Unless you've been a regular on the Italian car show circuit in the last couple of years or attended European Bug-In last year you won't have seen Matteo's VW before. But this isn't a fresh from the paintshop Bug as its been doing the rounds for a while.
The story starts back in 2000, when Matteo was in his early 20s and looking for a ‘Hot' Beetle - something he'd yearned for since being a teenager. His search started at the Maggiolino Kafer Club - what better place to start than Italy's largest VW club, and using their knowledgeable contacts Matteo was soon put in touch with the sons of an elderly gentleman living in the Italian lakeside city of Como, who were selling their fathers 1967 Deluxe. Matteo remembers the day he went to check it out like it was yesterday: "I went up to Como to see the car, and as soon as he opened the garage I knew it was the one!"
