You know, which car you'd have taken home if you had the chance, or which one stuck in your memory as something special. It's surprising how varied the answers can be too, even among friends with similar interests. For me - aside from the VW logo-shaped loaves of bread, of course - the thing that really stuck in my mind from this year's European Bug-In was this Squareback. It was also, coincidentally, one of the first cars we saw when we arrived on the Friday before the show, though I only gave it a cursory glance from afar that afternoon, due to the overwhelming number of different cars we were presented with upon arrival. After all, I'd already had a detailed look at the car when it debuted at the VolksWorld show the previous year, though I was surprised to see the interior appeared to have been re-done...
Yep, you guessed it, I thought this was the T3D Squareblack when I first saw it - its rich brown paint looked black in the early evening sun and its similar wheel/tyre/stance combination easily fooled the casual eye. It wasn't until we stopped our car and got out to speak with friends that I noticed that the car wasn't black at all, but a luscious shade of metallic chestnut brown which I instantly fell head-over-heels in love with. Now that I really liked. It was also on Belgian plates. Duh.
