Cutting Edge – ’65 Razor

The neon light graveyard in Las Vegas, Nevada is the location, and it's somewhere the owner of this awesome Type 34 Karmann Ghia always planned on using for the VolksWorld photoshoot. The car has to be the most full-on example built to date. It's the latest project to come from Bill Tsagrinos and it's sure to blow your mind, just as it has ours! The last time we featured a Volkswagen owned by Bill Tsagrinos from Las Vegas, Nevada was back in January 2004. Back then we showcased his black and red 13-window Deluxe Bus with 2270cc Type 4 motor. The Bus was, and still is, a stunner and has been a regular sight at VW events in Nevada, Arizona and California. Over the last five years we've published the occasional photograph of his Bus but more recently, the Bus was catapulted to national fame in the USA when it became one of the highlights of the reality TV show called Bull Run, a similar idea to the Cannonball Run, but a TV series with a $200,000 purse for the winner. Bill and his brother and business partner, George so nearly made it all the way, too. However, we're not here to talk about the Bus just now, or Bill's Savanna Beige '67 Old School Bug. The subject today is Bill's 1965 Type 34 1500S. We've been in touch with Bill since we featured his Bus five years back and we featured a number of VWs owned by friends of Bill and members of the Las Vegas Vee Dub Club. Although the first thing that might come to mind when thinking about Vegas is that it's all about huge themed hotels, gambling and all-night drive-through wedding chapels, there's a lot more going on behind ostentatious façades. There's a really good VW scene going on in Las Vegas and just down the road in the City of Henderson.
