’66 VW Beetle

Don’t you remember those kids in school who were always the best at everything, had all the latest stuff and even seemed to have cool parents who let them stay out late? As much as I wanted to be, I wasn’t one of those kids. Worse, I was the dork who grew tall and scrawny before anyone else, and although I didn’t have acne I was blessed with the gift of growing the biggest spot known to mankind and my stubble looked like dust in the sunlight. I had to wear braces to straighten my teeth, too.
But I’ve grown up and can laugh about my teenage years. Well, at least I thought I was past all that until I found out about a certain Alex Cleal from Guernsey. You see, Alex is definitely one of those cool kids – luck follows him wherever he goes, he’s funny and he’s described as a ‘nice guy’ by all who meet him. You hate him already, don’t you? Well you will by the time I’m finished!
Why the jealousy, you might ask. Good question, fellow VeeDubbers. Alex ‘Too Cool for School’ Cleal isn’t even on this side of the world as I write – he’s catching some rays in Australia. So not only does Alex have one of the finest 1966 Beetles around but he jets off to Oz when the fancy takes him.
