Check this out! Simon has been flat-out on my '61 and she's now wearing a fresh coat of L436 Indigo Blue under the bonnet, inside the engine bay, above the gearbox and the area under the spare wheel well and below the petrol tank.

To people that know me, there will be no surprise the car's ended up blue as I have a reputation for being a lover of blue cars. In fact in the office we have a generic term for certain tones of blue, they are known as 'Steve Gosling blue'!
Creative Coachworks are painting the 'shell in stages, the first stage being what you can see here. The second being the dash and inside and the final stage being the exterior. The reason for painting the 'shell in stages is to stop overspray. Overspray is something that is unavoidable when painting, if you tried to paint the 'shell in one hit, as you moved around the 'shell you'd ruin the paint finish in the areas you'd just completed, the fine paint particles in the air would stick to the still wet paint. The only way to over come this is to mask off areas and break the job into stages.

As you can imagine getting colour on is a massive milestone. I'm still buzzing as the finish looks truly amazing, and what really blew me away is what you see here is straight out of the gun! Massive thanks to Simon and the rest of the team for their dedication, the quality of their work continues to amaze me. Stay tuned over the next week as the rest of the colour goes on the 'shell
