Yes, that's right the Peene machine has been doing a bit of chopping and changing and his '66 has made way for the model he really wanted, an early big window Ragtop. How did this magnificent turn of events come about? Well, he wasn't looking to sell the '66 but when Clive Allen, the chap who built it back in the early 90s saw it had resurfaced in the VolksWorld project pages he just had to have it. James hadn't become particularly attached to the car so thought it would have been rude not to let Clive have it, and it made a nice little story.

With the money he made from that little deal James went straight out and bought this German '61. He found it in the VolksWorld classified section and had to drive up to Bradford to get it but he's double happy he did. Sure, it's a bit rough around the edges and the previous owner has updated it with a lot of 70s bits and bobs but it was cheap, MoT'd and drove like a good ‘un all the way home. James has already sourced a replacement interior for it and that'll go in before anything else. Watch this space.

Have your say!
