Ragtop day!

James and Jon decided to show off their Ragtops.

Seeing that Ivan, Steve and a few other members of staff were out today, James and I decided yesterday evening to drive our Ragtop Bugs to work this morning and use the vacant car park spaces normally used by the aforementioned missing members of the team.

As mentioned in James' blog post yesterday, he recently sold on his '66 Beetle and purchased another red Bug but this time a '61 and with a Ragtop.
Today was the first time we've seen it. It is a cool ride but requires some tidying up. For some reason the previous owner has "late-looked" it with '70s Bug seats, thin trim, black wipers, late ash tray, custom dor cards and so on. All rectifyable and something James has already made a start on.
Plus he will get an age-related plate put on too. The reason for the current plate was thanks to the previous owner bringing it over from Germany in 1970 and getting a '70 plate on registration in the UK.

As for my Bug, well it still needs a bit of tinkering with. The front tracking needs a fettle and the engine requires more fine tuning on those twin DellOrto 40's. Plus I want to change a few things on the interior already but thats just me changing my mind  - more on that as and when it happens.

All we need now is for Steve to finish his Bug so we can be a trio of 1961 Ragtops.
