Contribs Camper is famous

Readers of our sister magazine VW Camper&Bus will have read about Karen's 1970 Bay Window, (If you haven't seen it, you can try pick up a copy of the Summer 09 issue - try our VolksWorld eBay store).

Like most Type 2 fans Karen and her fella headed off to Vanfest VW Show (held at the Three Counties Showground, in Malvern, Worcestershire on 12-13 September) for the weekend to chill out, take in all the thousands of other VW Buses and hunt for spares for the Bay. While there it seems Karen's ride attracted the media and has been spotted as their main pic on the Metro, Daily Star and Daily Express websites.

The article on all three sites is about the show itself and how it attracted over 8,000 VWs to the showground. It then goes on to say:

"Bands - including The Commitments and The Brian Collins Band -
headlined the musical entertainment last night, and more than 250
stalls was set up for campers and visitors.
The popular cooking
in a camper contest returned this year, in which one person, in one
hour, must prepare and cook a three course meal to serve two people -
in their camper van.
A number of displays took place,
including the Well Travelled Transporters, which involved talks from
campers who had taken their vans far a field on expeditions around the
world.
The first official Vanfest was held in 1994, and has been held annually since."

It's great to have main-stream press coverage of the VW scene and well done to Vanfest for putting on a cracking show. But more importantly we wanted to give a thumbs up to Karen who's Bay clearly attracted the media's eye!
