Steve's New Beetle is for sale

After 4 years in my care it's time to move my New Beetle on to a new home.

Steves New Beetle is for sale

I bought this bug from Martin Taylor of Taylor Machine Services - you may know that name from his bad ass '52 Split window10-second drag car, currently running in the Outlaw Flat 4 club.

Martin bought this LHD car as one of the first in the country before they were officially available over here and immediately started to modify it. First on the list of things to do was bin the weedy 2.0-litre engine and install a 1.8 Turbo lump and front subframe from a Golf GTi. He then had an MTM 230bhp chip installed, along with an Audi RS2 intercooler, Audi S3 inlet manifold, a re-circulating dump valve and a K&N air filter. Next on the list was a cat-back MTM stainless steel exhaust, H&R adjustable coilovers on the front and adjustable spring platforms on the rear. The 1.8T front brakes now have cross drilled discs and the whole lot rolls on VW option 17-inch 5-spokes.

Moving on to the body, a custom front bumper was built using the lower section from an Audi RS2, the bonnet and bootlid were de-badged, the third brake light was removed from the boot and the Bug has privacy glass all round. The car also has the registration B4D NB or BAD New Beetle. I have bills for £5000 for the engine conversion alone!

Since the Newbie's been in my possession, I've replaced the radiator, water pump, cam belt, front discs and pads all round, as well as the battery, alternator, engine mounts and recently had her valeted. I also had the Newbie on a rolling road and have a print out to prove the 230bhp is genuine, well, 229 to be precise! She flew threw the MoT two weeks ago and is taxed until the end of June. The mileage is a very respectable 66,000 miles.

If you're interested in a fast, comfortable car, and you've got £3750ono give me a call on 07971 671552 or email me at stephen_gosling@ipcmedia.com
