VolksWorlds Beetle: The Update

Progress had picked up pace and just as we thought we'd finished working on it someone decided to prang it!

Okay, we had got the Beetle finished. Or so we thought until I managed to prang it into one of those ‘ invisible lamp posts'. I had hoped I could get it repaired without anyone from the office ever knowing to avoid the obvious ribbing I was going to get. Alas I didn't manage this and once the boys from the office saw it parked down a side street, out the way, the piss-taking began. And yet to make it even worse, now I'm typing it into a blog for all the world to see (that makes no sense!!??).

Anyway lucky for me Phil at Brickfield Classic VW's came to the rescue and offered to get some paint on our new wing and get it all fitted up double quick time. Sure enough within a day of the wing arriving from MegaBug, Phil had it stripped, primed and painted ready for refitting. Oh and he did a little MOT repair in the spare tyre well while he was there.

So now we are back driving it about with it's next journey to be the 3 hour drive upto Ipswich area to Newton Commercial for a brand spanking new interior.

But remember kids look out for those ‘invisible lamp posts'. They are out there although the one in question near Forest Hill, London is now clearly marked with some flecks of vw orange now. Every cloud has a silver lining, an' all that.
