We were recently directed to a web site about a guy called Josef Ganz.
On this site we read that Josef, a respected car engineer and renowned journalist in Germany, could possibly be the person who thought up the idea of a Volkswagen.
We're treating this information as a 'potential' hoax although the site does look like the creators are serious about making Josef's works known to the world and it does make very interesting reading. If it turns out to be true who knows what could happen!
Follow the link below to find out more. Make of it what you will but we advise not to read too much into it until otherwise proved correct as we can't vouch for the credibility of the information.

Have your say!

This is not the first time that things like that happens. Rosalind Franklin an english scientist, also jew, working with X-Rays discovered the sequence of the nucleotids present at the DNA molecule with the famous picture "Photo 51". Later Watson, Crick and Wilkins (1962) received a Nobel Prize for the discovery of DNA. This trio didn't give any credit to her extraordinary work.

Thanks for noticing our website! I am one of two founders of www.josef-ganz.com and have researched the story of Josef Ganz for the past five years. I have uncovered many original documents, letters, contracts and hundreds of photographs. Currently I am busy writing my book about Josef Ganz and his great influence on the Volkswagen Beetle. I expect the book to be published in September 2009, first in the Netherlands and then translated into English and German. The book will contain a vast amount of references to historical sources which support the incredible story of Josef Ganz, who was wiped out of history by the Nazis. I would greatly appreciate any interest and support from VolksWorld. You can contact me through my own website www.ganz-volkswagen.org. Many thanks!
