Snowflake rear lights for Steve's '60 Beetle

Steve gives us an insight as to why he wanted the snowflake rear light lenses for his project Beetle
A few weeks back I bought a pair of rear light lenses for my 1960 (soon to be Ragtop) Beetle. And Jon posted a blog up about them. Now you might have been sitting there wondering "why's he done that? They’re the same as the set on the car!" Well here’s a picture to show you why. On the left we have the Swedish spec plastic lenses and on the right the glass so called ‘snowflake’ lens.
It’s a minor detail, I agree. But the devils in the details! How much cooler do the Snowflakes look? Well worth the £25 they set me back in my opinion.
Now all I need is a rust free off side rear light housing, as I’ve just sand blasted mine and blown the bottom out of it (nasty!).
So if anyone out there has a rust free off side '56-'61 light housing email me on stephen_gosling@ipcmedia.com
