The VolksWorld Show! Was it good for you?

The VolksWorld Show 2008

Well thats another show done and dusted for another year.

It has to be said, for us and apparently all of you, that was possibly the best VolksWorld Show yet.
We've had positive comments from loads of people - posts, emails, phone calls... thanks everyone for your kind comments!
It was great to hear so many people recognised the effort the team put in and the amount of fresh cars we had this year!

If you would like to comment on your experience of the show please feel free to do so below!

Watch out for the full feature on the show in the July issue of VolksWorld magazine where we will have a write up, great photos and a list of who won what.
In the mean time here are a few snaps from my little pocket camera - not the best but they give those who didn't go a feel for what they missed.

Show Car 28. 1962 Ragtop Beetle with Skis. Hi guys, thought I'd just send a quick message to you to say thank you for putting on a great show. A great variety of cars so there was something for everyone. The only negative thing for me was the drive back to Germany. As I was driving past Ostend the Dynamo pully broke into three bits, one passing through the Engine deck lid. The cars still in Belgium waiting for the ADAC to recover it back here. The positive side was that the recovery crew that picked me up of the Autobahn knew of a guy that lived not to far away who might be able to help so we went to see him. Not only was he at the show but he showed me his garage and it was packed to the roof with spares, then he showed me his cars for sale. Over forty buses were parked in an old warehouse along with a few Beetles and a Karman. His own cas were in another warehouse, twenty buses and all on the road. Amazing, needless to say I've got his address because he doesn't believe in advertising on the internet. Anyway thanks again and looking forward to this years shows. Take care. Stuart.

Hi Joe! Thanks for the nice comments about the show - it means a lot to us. We're glad you and your parents enjoyed it! As for finding a van you might want to try our classifieds online if you haven't already done so. There are some good examples up for grabs at the mo. The only problem with wanting a Split is the money they go for these days - they don't come cheap. Anyway, good luck with finding one and keep us informed on your progress! If you do get one, send us some photos! Cheers, Jon

Hi guys, cheers for yet another great show..... Although we thoroughly enjoyed it, we can’t help but feel that it’s getting too big for Sandown. The parking was full and the queues on the local roads were a nightmare, it took us two hours to get from the motorway junction. Although I can justify the huge crowds around the show cars, it got to the point where people started complaining that they were being pushed around and the kids were getting squashed. Surly it’s time to go somewhere bigger and more central to the UK? Sorry for the complaints, but without them you wouldn’t be able to improve an already fantastic show. Keep up the good work; I know it must have been stressful.

Hey peeps at volksworld! First of all let me congratulate u all on an awesome show, it's the 1st one i've been 2 & i couldn't of been more impressed, the turnout was crazy & the dubs just ruled! I took my mum & dad as a 35th anniv prezzie & they loved it 2! I've gotta say, when i was growing up my mum & dad had 9 different vans in the space of about 12 years & every 1 was just amazing, from the the twin cab pick up through the tin top bays & the barn doors, every 1 was different from the last! I can still remember getting taken 2 school in a tin top microbus we'd just got for £900 from a shed in warlingham, surrey, that some dude had been using as a run around 4 hay bails & horse supplies, yeah, not pretty on the inside when we got there, & having 2 wear a jumper & a sleeping bag cos the heaters didn't work & it was the middle of october! So i think you could safely say that's where i picked up the bug! (No pun intended!) :) I just never knew u could do so much with these vans, so i'm on the prowl 4 a splitty, 11 window, project or resto'd! Can anyone help me? Back on the subject, the show was amazing, everyone was so positive & the pinstriping demo was incredible! That dude rocks! All the cars were awesome & i got my picture taken with the volksgirls! :) All in all, the show was amazing & i'll definately b at the brighton breeze & back at the volksworld show next year! Thanks 4 a top day out 4 us van fans & keep up the good work! Great magazine! Joe! Joe!
