Day Mouldings GRP Beetle wings

Last Sunday, Steve left his flat at an un-Godly six in the morning on a parts chasing mission for project '60. Destination Lincolnshire! Why? Well at the end of 2007 Steve ordered a set of Day Mouldings GRP wings and it was time to collect and pay the man.

Keith the man in question has been making GRP VW wings since the 70s. And from what we've seen and been told by professional restorers they really are as good as the real thing. With NOS wings hard to come by and expensive, and cheap pattern wings just plain rubbish, Keith's wings are the only way to go. And at 150 pounds for a set a four they wont rip a hole in the bottom of your wallet!

The first two images below are the moulds used to make the wings. They are two piece that clamp together to shape the wing inside.
The bottom image is the finished product once the moulds have been cracked open.
