The '61 is finally at the painters!

Yep! It really is there and as promised, here is a sneaky photo of us dropping it off!

It was a long day - a very long day!
But this wasn't due to us encountering any problems with the shell, trailer or finding Auto-Line , it was thanks to my belly ejecting food the same way I had put it in!
Lifting a Beetle shell and strapping it to a trailer is not the best thing to do when you're feeling rough!
That said it was light and straight-forward to put the shell on the trailer and strap it down with some ratchet straps.
We had to stop several times on the way to check the shell was OK and not getting damaged (and for me to visit the verge) but even with these stops, it only took us 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to Auto-Line in Southend from Surrey.
It was huge relief to get there as it meant I could stop visioning the shell coming loose and rolling down the M25 and also because it means I've reached a good point of the project - the bodywork is done!
Now I have to put on my new suspension, brakes, gearbox, fuel lines and detail the chassis in time for the body coming back. I can't wait!
