The '61 Beetle gets a nice coat of primer

Primer? That can only mean it won't be long 'till the '61 goes for paint!

The '61 Beetle is now ready for paint

Yep that's right, I've finally got to that stage and boy am I relieved!
The body prep has taken far longer that I intended but I guess getting it right is more important.

Despite the photo above showing no wings and bonnet etc, everything bar the rear valance and engine lid is now attached and painted in primer ready for the painter to do his thing.
As you've probably guessed from that sentence, I have gone the 'removable valance' route as I found it so much easier having one when working on my engine in my last Bug - so thought I would have the same set-up again.

I will give you an update on the journey to the paint shop in a couple of days.
