James drove to work in the Fridolin the other day despite the cold and wet weather, as he needed to drop the old wheels off at our lock-up.
By lunch time the weather was looking a little less menacing so he thought it the perfect time to roll out.
He even tempted myself along for the ride by offering me a ride in my old daily drive.
"What the hell", I thought, "I haven't driven it for two years now and seeing as it's been sorted it should be fun".
Mike even popped down to say hello to our old friend.
No sooner had we got outside had the heavens decided to open again. Mike had the right idea and scarpered pretty sharpish while James and myself thought we would continue the mission and get the wheels dropped off.
Halfway to the lock up and things got worse. The deluge of rain was hindering our vision and the wind was catching the slab sided Frid. It wasn't fun!
We finally got to our destination to find a small flood gathering and a waterfall had formed directly over the door of our garage!
James got out and braved the rain only to be soaked through in seconds. I sat tight and laughed at him instead.
Eventually we got the wheels out and locked back up but that was after we had taken refuge inside the lock-up for a while to let the now even heavier rain pass.
Sodden through, feeling somewhat uncomfortable and smelling similar to that of a wet dog, we made our way back to the office in Der Fridolin.
Although the Frid drives a whole load better, it is the last time I will let James tempt me into helping him by offering me the keys.
