Weekend work on the 1961 Ragtop

It's slow going but it will be worth it!
That's what I have to keep reminding myself anyway. This body prep malarkey doesn't half take a long time!
I busted out the sanding blocks again this weekend and prepped a few more areas on the Beetle. I think having to do it in stages (it lives outside and due to the weather I can't rub down the whole car at once or paint it in one go) isn't helping too much and slowing the whole process down.
Ho hum! Come August, I will hopefully be cruising about in it!
My painter is desperate to make a start on the car now so if all goes to plan (yeah right) it should be off to his workshop in the next few weeks.
The engine bay is looking rather tidy now - it should look good once painted up.
Here is the front arch after a coat of POR15. As with all the other arches, two coats of stone chip follwed and then a coat of primer. I want to keep things rust free!
You can see the full update of what work I did at the weekend in an upcoming issue of VolksWorld magazine. And don't forget, you can see a few photos of the build up so far in the VolksWorld Photo Galleries
