Update on project '60

With two weeks off work and no money to go on holiday, Steve steamed into Project '60.

Steve Gosling's 1960 VW Beetle Project

The '60 up on bricks

What better way to use your holiday days up than work on a VW project eh?
With all the shows we attend and the busy schedule, this is quite often the only way we can make any progress on our projects!

The picture you see below shows what 'was' the worst area of the car, which was cleverly (not!) hidden under a chunk of glass fiber.

"Although not as bad in this area as some cars I've owned, it's a tricky part to repair accurately as the repair panels are poor at best and modeled on a later car", says Steve

With this in mind, Steve only used the wing bolt area from the repair panel and fabricated the rest of the repair panels by hand.
"It was a long winded process but I have to say I'm happy with my work (which must be a first!)."

For the full story on the rest of the work you'll have to wait for the March issue of VolksWorld!
