Well I guess that's it! The last meet of the season! Now it's time to baton down the hatches and beaver away on those project cars ready for the start of 2008.
It was a good day on Sunday and it was just as busy as ever with people accumulating parts to use on their VWs over the dark cold months ahead.
The usual traders had turned up and seemed to be doing well but there also seemed to be an awful lot of people trading outside from their boots, which I'm sure isn't supposed to be going on! Never-the-less, there were some good bargains out there to be had.
Steve found some nice wheels for Mike's Oval but didn't purchase anything himself, James spent 70p on a Mars Bar while Ivan purchased a questionable breakfast!
I myself picked up a 1500 gearbox, from a prior agreed exchange, and a popes nose rear number plate light! I still haven't found the right rear valance though! Does anyone have a nice genuine '60s Beetle rear valance for sale? A used one will do as long as it isn't rotten and out of shape!
All in all it was a good day out and great to catch up with so many people before we all disappear till next year.
For the official report on Slough you will have to look out for it in a future issue of VolksWorld, but for now, here are a few photos to whet your appetite! (Click here).
