VolksWorld December 2008

On sale: Friday, 31 October 2008

Hooked on classics
Some people have a nose for sniffing out the 'right' cars, and Peter Harvey is one of them. This is his latest find and it's one of the best we've seen yet

Going Topless
Owning a top-down car in the UK is probably a little silly, what with our climate, but over the Pond in the land of non-stop sunshine and endless straight smooth roads, a slammed '63 Cabriolet Beetle is probably the best car to roll in

The Outlaws
The Open Sports Nationals at Shakespeare County Raceway always promises to deliver hard-core track action for the Outlaw Flat Four

The Phoenix Bugorama 2008
On our trip to USA we hit three shows in a row ? here's our full report from the Bugorama in Phoenix on April 13th!

Towd away
Darren Bowden from Billy Bob's Buggy Shop built this Fiberjet Sand Hopper in just three months, then scooped the buggy build-off award at this year's VolksWorld Show thanks to our readers!

VW Action
The biggest and busiest VW Action there has been since the original Stoneleigh Shows back in the 1980s, this year's event at Santa Pod Raceway was one helluva top show

Triple Cab
It sounds like a joke doesn't it -? what do you get if you cross a panel van with a pick-up? The answer isn't a panel-up or a pick-van but the one and only Tripple Cab. Get a load of this

More door
When you think of coachbuilt VWs, a four-door taxi isn't the first thing that comes to mind, yet these unusual vehicles came from the same stable as some of the most sought after coachbuilts of all

The Scandinavian Cal-look Classic
Matt packs his bags and jets off to Norway to visit one of the best air-cooled VW shows of 2008.
Check out some footage from the Scandinavian Cal-look Classic

How To: Recon Engine 500-mile service
In the previous two How to instalments we showed you how to remove your engine and strip it down to a long-block ready for shipping back to the remanufacturer's. We then showed you how to reassemble your freshly overhauled recon engine with all of your ancillaries before fitting it to the vehicle and carrying out the initial start-up.

Beige against the Machine

Not all Cal Lookers need a huge engine to make their point, as this 1956 shows. Its beige bodywork, however, looks the part to a tee
