Cal Look Drag Day 2012

The California Look Drag Day is a drag racing event held over the weekend of March 31st – April 1st 2012, based around the spirit of 60's and 70’s California – ideal if you would love to be surrounded by fire breathing Aircooled racers and cal lookers right here in the UK at Santa Pod Raceway!

Racing is open to flat four VW Powered vehicles that are capable of completing a 1/4 mile in under 15.99 seconds. The strip is prepared to the highest of standards and is not the usual RWYB fare, which will ensure plenty of personal bests. There is a strict limit of 100 track places to ensure everybody gets maximum time on the strip so it’s perfect for shaking down your 9-second racer or dialing in your driving style, so please be sure to book your race vouchers early.

There will be a show and shine on the Saturday afternoon and some of the quickest flat fours in Europe out on the strip on Sunday from the Outlaw Flat Fours, the Air Cooled Eliminators, JG54 Greenhearts, the SAS Rennwagens and the DKR all attending in force, amongst others. Spectators as well as racers are welcome along.

This event is ALL ABOUT THE RACING, aimed at the true petrol heads of the VW Scene. The camaraderie of fellow racers and the roar of the flat four is the entertainment, dressing up is strictly limited to race suits and helmets. Any dancing which takes place is from inside the vehicle and involves a steering wheel and an attempt to launch in a straight line.
