Solid RHD 1959 Bug found in Kent after being bricked up since 1974!

Ivan popped up to have a look at this 1959 RHD Bug yesterday, after getting a call from the owner telling us how he found it.

“We found it bricked up in a house in Kent. It had been there since 1974 next to the central heating boiler, so thats about as dry stored as you can get really” said Neil Thompson, the current owner of this cool little Bug.

After having a look at it Ivan too confirmed it was a nice ride with lots of original paint and a registration plate worth around £1500. He also noted that it had been well protected from the elements thanks to the generous helping of underseal.

Neil added “It has its original 1200 engine, with 108.000 on the clock, which has just been serviced and starts first time – and it’s still 6 volt. It has just flown through its M.O.T, but we did have all the brakes renewed as the rubbers would not have lasted too long. The only modification we made was to have nice original seat belts professionally fitted in the back for our kids safety (easily removed)”.

Another point to note is all the spares that come with the car. There’s lot of them and plenty of original paperwork to boot!
